This is the part where we sip coffee and talk about cookies (not the delicious kind).
Welcome, curious human, to Bazmarc.com – the personal blog, portfolio, digital workshop, occasional soapbox, and caffeine-fueled creative haven of yours truly, Barry Ashworth. This is where I write things, shoot things (with a camera), design things, make music, and occasionally help other folks do the same – all while desperately trying to remember what day it is and whether I already drank that second cup of coffee.
This page exists because, in the year of our Lord 2000, even the smallest, most artisanally brewed blog needs legal pages. So buckle up: it’s time for the thrilling world of Terms & Privacy, served with a generous shot of humor, a splash of common sense, and absolutely no artificial jargon.
☕ Who’s Behind Bazmarc?
Hi again – it’s me, Barry a human. I’m the main and sometimes the contributor to this site. No team. No interns. No AI churning out generic content from a server farm in Nevada. So basically just me, my camera, my laptop, my guitar, and a bottomless cup of coffee. Every article, photo, design, and tune on this site (unless clearly noted otherwise) was made by me.
Sometimes I feature and colaberate with cool people or projects I like – not because I’m being paid to, but because I believe in community and spreading the good stuff. But when it comes to the core content? It’s 100% Barry.
📷 What This Site Is For
Bazmarc is:
- A blog about writing, photography, design, and music
- A portfolio of my creative work
- A shopfront where I occasionally sell things I’ve made
- A place to experiment, reflect, and time-travel (emotionally)
- A low-key tribute to coffee and how it fuels everything above
If you’re here to browse, read, listen, look, or buy something – welcome. If you’re here to copy, scrape, or sell my stuff on Etsy… maybe rethink your life choices.
🧠 Intellectual Property: AKA Don’t Be That Person
Look, I worked hard on this stuff. I lost sleep over it. I rearranged images at 2 a.m. and rewrote sentences until they made sense (and then rewrote them again because they didn’t). So:
✅ Yes, you may link to my articles, quote a paragraph with credit, or tell your friends how brilliant the music is.
🚫 No, you may not repost entire articles, rip my images, use my music in your crypto startup promo, or slap my designs on a tote bag and call it a day. Same goes for the music.
If you want to collaborate, feature something, or license any work, just reach out. I don’t bite – unless I haven’t had coffee.
🍪 Cookies: The Digital Kind (Unfortunately)
Bazmarc.com uses cookies. Not the gooey chocolate chip variety, but tiny text files that help the site run better. Some keep track of your comment info so you don’t have to retype your name every time. Others help me understand if three people visited today or three hundred (a guy can dream).
You can disable cookies in your browser if you want — but parts of the site might not work properly, and the site will feel mildly offended.
💬 Comments, Spam & the Robots Among Us
If you leave a comment (which I love, by the way), the site collects what you type in, plus your IP address and browser user agent (which sounds fancy but is basically “the flavor of your internet”).
This is all to keep the comment section clean, friendly, and free of bot-written nonsense about miracle weight loss pills.
If you use Gravatar, your little profile picture may appear next to your comment. If you don’t use Gravatar, you’ll remain delightfully mysterious.
🖼️ Uploads, Metadata & Accidental Oversharing
If, for some reason, you upload an image to the site (this is rare, but hey), please don’t include EXIF data or GPS coordinates unless you want strangers knowing exactly where you took that blurry photo of your lunch.
Likewise, be kind: don’t upload anything offensive, copyrighted, or cursed.
🎥 Embedded Stuff (Videos, Playlists, Magical Portals)
Sometimes you’ll see embedded content – YouTube videos, Spotify playlists, Instagram posts, etc. When you interact with those, it’s like visiting those sites directly. They might collect data or offer you cookies. I don’t control that – I just embed the stuff so the site is fun and multimedia-y.
🛒 If You Buy Something
Bless your heart. If you make a purchase, your payment is processed securely by a third-party system like Stripe or PayPal. I don’t see your full card number. I just get your order details, a name, and a shipping address if I need to send you something tangible and delightful.
Please double-check your info. I can’t teleport packages (yet).
🔐 What I Store and Why
Here’s what’s kept, and for how long:
- Comments: Saved forever so conversations make sense and don’t vanish into the void.
- Login details (if I ever offer accounts): Stored securely.
- Shop orders: Basic info stored for taxes, shipping, and general record-keeping.
- Emails: If you contact me, I might keep your email so I can reply like a polite human.
You can request a copy of your data or ask me to delete it. I’ll personally handle it – no robot hotline, no mysterious forms that go nowhere.
🧻 Legal Obligations & Admin Stuff
If the authorities ever ask me to share data for legal reasons, I might have to comply. But rest assured, I’m not casually handing out your details to anyone, ever. Your info is safer here than my last pack of coffee beans (which disappeared under mysterious circumstances).
🕰️ Updates & Changes
Just like the seasons and my taste in fonts, this page may change. I might update it to reflect new features, services, or legal requirements. You can always scroll back here if you’re ever wondering what’s changed (or just miss the sound of my voice in text form).
