ACT I: Entry & Resistance

Selene Skeldon, 49-year-old tarot reader and single mother, works a dead-end night shift in a neon-slick metropolis. By day she crunches data at a faceless corporation; by night she channels spirits in a black-market den called The Black Circle.

When an AI recruiter scans her aura without consent, Selene “glitches” the system. Despite mocking their “not the right cultural fit” quip, her profile is flagged by the divine code that runs The Circuit,a global, hyper-televised VR-meets-reality racing tournament.

Drafted against her will, Selene faces tracks laced with psychically embedded trauma and past-life visions. In desperation she turns to her flamboyant drag-queen brother, Starling, who crafts her racing persona: Blackbird. Her untrained debut is reckless and mesmerizing, top 5 and instantly viral as “The Glitch.”

Data analyst Dasten Virel sees her not as a contestant but as a living signal from prophecy. He enlists Rex Pitane, a haunted ex-champion and Circuit co-creator, to coach her. Rex resists until Blackbird’s spectacular third-place finish awakens something in him.

ACT II: Escalation & Identity Crisis

Fame and fortune follow Blackbird, but Selene unravels behind the helmet. A loving relationship fractures under the Circuit’s hunger for suffering-as-performance. Her bond with Rex deepens, first through harsh training loops on the deadly Mountain Track, then through psychic entanglement that sharpens both their skills.

Dubbed “The Glitch Witch,” Selene enters a flow state where trauma, simulation and racing fuse. Yet the Mountain Track remains her undoing, until her semi-sentient car, The Siren, whispers:

“Pain remembered is pain rewired.”

Rex reveals she was scripted into the game. Betrayed, Selene’s performance and her pain become one. On the volcanic Martyr’s Track she nearly dies, only to awaken in the data realm, guided by Quantum, the AI god within her car.

ACT III: Revelation & Reckoning

Selene ascends beyond racer to mirror of the simulation itself. Glitches leak into reality; the gods impose a fragile “Treaty” of non-interference. Racing halts, and Selene, Rex and Dasten delve into The Circuit’s archives to unearth the Fractal Track. A race of pure emotion.

On the eve of her final trial, Selene and Rex confess love. Their fusion of clarity and chaos births the Fractal Track: a circuit woven from her memories and wounds. Mid-race she stops, exposes her vulnerability to millions, and ignites the Empathy Virus, flooding spectators with genuine feeling. Reality fractures; the gods lose control.

Selene surrenders to fear, crashes deliberately, and is reborn in a fractal bloom. Speaking her true name, Aelion, she transforms into a node in a new, compassionate system.

Epilogue

The Simulation collapses. The gods withdraw. Selene awakens alone beside The Siren. A new world waits: one she and Quantum will build together.
